Bufflehead 6,358 Posted April 29, 2016 Mine was about 90 minutes, but that included a hernia repair. The nursing staff at my hospital told me my surgeon is known for being meticulous and taking his time, so other surgeons might be a lot quicker. Recycled 2,182 Posted April 29, 2016 You certainly won't be aware or care......you're gonna start counting backwards and then, in what seems like just a few seconds, you're awake in recovery........wanting pretty much just to keep napping.
becomingmandikaye 262 Posted April 29, 2016 My surgeon told me today that the sleeve is about an hour long. But I suspect ymmv depending on your surgeon.
ecoreen94 37 Posted April 29, 2016 I guess it different for everyone. Just asked because I'm getting my wisdom teeth taking out and it will be about 2 hours or more. And so I was wondering if it would be long or less. I know it's two different surgeries but it's the first of what seems to be many..

The actual surgery alone is probably 1-1/2 hours. I would assume it's a good hour pre-op (getting you ready, asking a million questions, starting an IV, giving any meds needed) and then probably an hour or more in recovery - depending on how quickly you wake up. tobysgirl 58 Posted May 14, 2016 Mine was 57 minutes with a couple of hours in recovery afterwards. When I woke up after surgery I didn't realize the operation was already over. It was quick and painless. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
