I am 49 days out and have lost 47 pounds, which I know is nothing to be upset about. The weight loss has slowed almost to a stop though. In fact, I haven't lost in a couple of days. Is this the dreaded plateau? If it is, does anyone have any suggestions for breaking it? I eat mostly Protein, between 60-80 a day. I'm still only able to take in about 2 oz of food at a time. I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I'm down 47 pounds since surgery on March 11 and down 75 since January.

You can't expect to keep losing at a rate of almost a pound a day forever. It's going to slow way down at some point and probably stop entirely several times along the way. You just have to keep focused on your program. If you are doing everything right, you have nothing to worry about. The weight will come off.

Yes, it's a stall. Won't be your last, either.

Like Jamie said, stay with your program and it will pass. If it's going to drive you crazy, don't weigh as much so you don't see the scale at a standstill. Also remember you may still be losing inches instead, so get out the tape measure!

You have lost 47 pounds! Celebrate.

None of us lose weight at a constant or steady rate. We all hit stalls and plateaus periodically. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight.

Embrace the Stall!

@@jasoncunningham - have you ever lost that much weight in such a short time? 75 pound lost since January is OUTSTANDING!

Be thankful!!!!

Not everybody is losing as fast and if this is your first plateau/stall in 49 days?

BE VERY THANKFUL!!!!!

Most of us experienced them every month - - - like me.

Stay on the plan and keep in touch with your NUT.

YOU 'got this'

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
