misi324 22 Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) I had my surgery on 1/5/16 and noticed my hair is starting its fall-out phase today. Dr. said it would be closer to 6 months post-op. I guess I'm an early bloomer. :-( Edited April 28, 2016 by misi324
IrishGermanRN 151 Posted April 28, 2016 I've always heard it was the 3-4 month mark and lasting to the 6 month post op mark
jane13 2,256 Posted April 28, 2016 @@misi324 - mine started about 3rd month and ran for about 3 and then the hair loss slowed down. That was when the weight loss also slowed. I chopped my hair a lot shorter and put a color rinse on it regularly because the grey hair seems to LOOK thinner than my normal brown. It has started coming back but it still isn't thick as it use to be, but then again, neither am I! NO REGRETS!
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted April 28, 2016 My hair loss also started the fourth month post-op. And it was pretty much over by nine months post-op. It wasn't that bad.
naturegirl 320 Posted April 28, 2016 Months 3-6. Month 3.5-5 was the worst! My Hair loss has stopped and started to regrow. But it's incredibly thin now.

cindyw41 761 Posted May 6, 2016 Mine too has been falling out.. I just got my hair cut short to help keep it healthy. There isn't anything we can do to prevent it but increasing Protein will help with the regrowth. I have thick curly hair. I didn't get it thinned at my last two cuts anticipating this phase. I still almost cry every morning cleaning all the hair out of the tub..

sallymae77 1 Posted May 7, 2016 Biotin supplement has really helped me. My surgery was 10/12/15...I started Bioton in 12/15 & I can see the improvement
ssflbelle 829 Posted May 7, 2016 I started taking Biotin supplements back in June of 2015 and didn't have my surgery until Jan 26th 2016. I am into the middle of my 3rd post op month. I am 60 years old, so at that age I would think hair loss would be even greater. I have yet to see any Hair loss and hope I do not for a few more years.
