Personally, I think I am better off just following my program and using my highly experienced medical team as a resource. My NUT, PA, surgeon, and even my PCP and personal

trainer have given me plenty of information/advice for being healthy.

I don't need to spend even more money on supplements.

I am not trying to use it for additional weight loss or anything. When I took it pre sleeve, my hair grew like crazy and my energy levels were through the roof! It was pretty awesome! I have a follow up appt on Friday and I'm going to ask about it.

I LOVE my Thrive! I asked my nutritionist about it and she was happy to hear I was taking it and glad that it's in shake form. Vitamins in pill form make me sick, but my Thrive shakes are very agreeable with my tummy (I'm pre-surgery). And yes, it's really helped with my hair and it contains Probiotics which has kept me from having diverticulitis flair ups. I plan to continue Thrive after surgery because it's done so much good for me and my husband the last two years.

Are you taking your thrive during your previous op diet? I was worried about the caffeine. I am taking capsules ang more ingredients shake, but no Patches, was wanting to resume shakes at puree stage.

Yes, I am taking everything thru pre-op diet. As soon as I can start keeping down the shakes, I'll resume the Thrive as well. I'll be breaking open the pills and putting them in a shake to begin with, then whatever is puréed till I can take them regularly again. Just had this discussion with my bariatric nurse today. Start my pre-op liquids on Friday!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
