I thank you for your words. I get so disappointed each Monday morning when I weigh myself and it is either a one pound drop or none at all.

I wonder what is the difference in the days. I will try that. I wonder if I'm not eating enough or too much right now. My daily food intake usually consists of 2-30gram Premiere Protein drinks, about 4 oz. of Soup, some crackers or pretzels since they are low fat, 3oz. of cottage cheese and maybe 2 bottles of Water. What do you think?

I would eat more Protein (less crackers and pretzels) and you definitely need more fluids. Protein & Water & exercise is key at this point.

@@darima77 I think you DEFINITELY need more Water. You should be aiming for 64 grams a day. And don't waste room on crackers and pretzels (I wasn't even allowed those until 3 months post-op). Focus on Protein first. Not just shakes, but real food with protein. I assume you are cleared for solid foods now if you are already eating crackers and pretzels? If so, you should be incorporating some meat in there. Here's a general idea of what I was eating at about 40 days post-op:

Breakfast: Protein Shake

Morning Snack: string cheese

Lunch: 2-3 oz. of meat, usually leftover from dinner

Afternoon Snack: Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt (only Greek yogurt I could stand the taste of)

Dinner: 2-3 oz. of meat

Evening Snack: protein shake

With that plan, I was able to get close to my goal of 100 grams of protein a day. The "meat" listed above was usually whatever meat my husband was having with his dinner. Pulled pork in BBQ Sauce, meatloaf, shrimp, sausage, indian style chicken prepared int he slow cooker, chili... I usually tried to do ground, pulled, or very tender meats, not just like a steak or piece of grilled chicken. Super dense meats were still hard for me to eat a lot of. So softer meats in some sort of sauce were usually easier.

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process. We all experience stalls, and almost everyone experiences their first stall about three weeks after surgery.

Just follow your program.

Track your food.

Make sure you are reaching your protein target every day.

Drink at least 64 oz of Fluid.< /p>

Avoid added sugars, starches, and fried foods.

Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed.

Exercise when cleared.

Embrace the Stall

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
