I am losing weight slowly, lost a total of 17 lbs.

gain two on the 4 week then lost 4 lbs the week after. It's hard sticking to your new eating habits, just remember all the money and time we all put into it.

I know it's hard to make the changes and stick to the plan, but you can do this. Everyone is so different when it comes to how much and how fast they loose the weight. The one thing I stopped doing was comparing my weight loss to others. I am a few weeks away from the 3 month mark and it has been slow for me as well. One week I will loose 7 pounds the next nothing, even gaining a few along the way. I stick to the plan and get in all my required nutrients. In the weeks I feel it is too slow or gain I sometimes up my Protein and Water requirements, even up my calories a little the bam, the weight comes off. Keep up the good work, it's hard but so worth it!

Definitely avoid comparing yourself to others and even consider staying off the scale altogether. If you stick to your plan, meet your Water and Protein targets, take your Vitamins, and move as much as possible, you WILL lose the weight!

Echoing what was said above.

I am 6 weeks out today (time has flown by!) and any expectations I had for myself post-surgery were completely off. I realize they don't tell you too much of what to expect after surgery, so as not to create expectations based off of others. Everyone really is different in this case. My mother also had surgery (awhile back) and it took her months to lose what I've lost in 6 weeks (which is BEYOND what I would've expected - I feel like I'm losing too fast).

The biggest things are your Protein and keeping hydrated. I was told 64 oz of Water, but my blood pressure kept dropping, so now they have me on 80oz+ (which is a PAIN in the tuchus). And don't forget those vitamins!

Stalls are to be expected. Some weeks you'll lose nothing, some you'll lose a bunch. Keep at it and you'll see it's worth it!

Hey guys, since y'all are further out than I am (tomorrow is two weeks), I am curious to know how long you abdominal pain lasted. Mostly just on the side where the larger incision (stomach removal) is. It's just sort of achey, anyone else have that problem? Thanks for your input guys.

Hey guys, since y'all are further out than I am (tomorrow is two weeks), I am curious to know how long you abdominal pain lasted. Mostly just on the side where the larger incision (stomach removal) is. It's just sort of achey, anyone else have that problem? Thanks for your input guys.

My major pain diminished after a few days, but I did have quite a lot of tenderness, achy-ness for about 2-3 weeks, particularly when sleeping (I'm a side sleeper and that was a no-go for a few weeks) and bending to pick up anything. I still do notice what can only be described as a weird pulling sensation on the side where my stomach is - I was told this was normal as my new stomach heals, but to keep an eye out for any major pain associate with the area.

The best advice I have for you is to keep walking - I know it sounds counter intuitive when you're feeling achy, but it really does help, and you'll feel better quicker!

Thanks! Went back to work yesterday and I think it's probably just the adjustment. I haven't taken hardly any of my pain meds, because I am not crazy about how they make me feel. I may just have to take a few from time to time until I get adjusted to a little bit of activity. I have a sedentary job but it's still work. Thanks for the advice!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
