Has anyone used the patch MD for your multi-Vitamin and Calcium? The chewable ones make me so sick no matter what time of day i take them. I really need my vitamins! I feel so sluggish. If you have tried the Patches, can they both be used at the same time?

I don't know anything about the Patches. Originally I was taking a liquid Vitamin but it tasted nasty. I found a great vitamin on max muscle, tablet form, called max multi that is very comprehensive.

I only used chewables until I was 6 weeks post op. I found a bariatric Vitamin in a capsule form that I've begun to take.

I've been using the Multi-Vitamin Patches since my surgery last October and I love them. I just got a follow up blood test done last month and my levels were all good so they're definitely working for me. I'm not sure about two patches at once though. Maybe send an email to PatchMD and ask to be sure.

My doc is firm on me staying with chewables. He said he doubts the pills get a proper chance to digest in my sleeve.

I don't know.....I can say that they don't turn my urine the neon colors they used to when I was pre-op. Maybe he's right.

There are a wide range of flavors of chewable Vitamins. Some taste like hell......some are really good. Keep searching and you'll find a good one for you.

I am using the patch MD Multivitamin and the Bariatric Advantage caramel Calcium/Vitamin D chews. I have also been using a Protein shake with a full complement of Vitamins and minerals, and eating a variety of fruits and veggies. So hard to tell what is doing it, but I haven't felt that fatigue many people complain about.

I started on Bariatric Advantage chewables, then switched to Patch MD Multivitamins after the first month. Eating 2 caramel calcium chews per day. My 3 month labs were all in the normal range. Vitamin D was on the low side of normal, but up from what it has been in the past. My Dr. doesn't have a problem with his patients using them -- but did warn me to make sure the Patches don't come off when the heat of summer rolls around. Not sure about wearing 2 at once, but I've wondered about it since they have so many options.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
