MadisonsMommy 36 Posted April 27, 2016 I am starting the process and have UHC insurance. I have to do the six month supervised diet. My question is this... I did a program through a weight loss clinic from June to Dec of last year. I have documentation on paper from them, but the clinic is no longer in business...do y'all think the insurance company will accept it, or will I probably have to do the six months over? vandernoordh 63 Posted April 27, 2016 The insurance coordinator at your surgeons office would be able to look at them and answer that question. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

achappex3 346 Posted April 27, 2016 Mine wouldn't accept it. Even with documentation. It sucked! But I know it'll be worth it. 1 month down, 5 more to go! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
alikelley 12 Posted April 27, 2016 I have UHC too. They did not accept mine either. Two months down, four to go! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
MadisonsMommy 36 Posted April 27, 2016 So they required you to start the 6 months after you submitted the approval paperwork? Does your 6 months have to be with the surgeon? Obviously using my PCP is more affordable. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

vandernoordh 63 Posted April 27, 2016 I'm still waiting to find it if UHC is going to accept my previous weight loss appointments with my PCP. Thursday will be my two week mark since submitting it. Hoping to hear something back soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

vandernoordh 63 Posted April 27, 2016 When I called them they told me they would notify the surgeons office and I would be fining out from them not UHC. They were rude the day I called them. I've ready received a call from the nurse line regarding my "up coming surgery" so I'm assuming it is approved.
