lcarter1227 3 Posted April 26, 2016 My surgery date is June 1st. I just got notice from my job that we are having a meeting in Orlando from June 5th - 7th, I live in NJ. When did everyone go back to work? I have an office job and sit at a desk all day. Also, will I be able to fly so soon after surgery?
walkinggirl 90 Posted April 26, 2016 I had my surgery on a Tuesday and was back to work on the following Monday, no problem. (I have a desk job as well). That said, everyone is so, so different. I can tell you that even though I felt well enough to go back to work, no way would I have felt well enough to fly for a business trip that soon after. Good luck with your surgery! Deeno11 2 Posted April 26, 2016 My surgeon told me minimum of 3 weeks, and I have a desk job also. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted April 26, 2016 I don't think you'd be able to go to Orlando 2-3 days after discharge. It's not smart to fly after major surgery - blood clots are a concern but so is dehydration.
lcarter1227 3 Posted April 27, 2016 Thanks all! I think I was most upset I would be missing my free trip to Orlando but I'd take this life change over the trip
bellabeans 74 Posted April 27, 2016 My doctor told me one week to recover with no complications. But I have decided to take 2 weeks off just in case . Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
