Now the "mad scientist recipe adapting" phase starts. It really can be so interesting exploring what you can make or remake old family favorites into more WLS friendly versions.

Enjoy this stage. It really can be joyful.

Have you tried Ricotta Bake yet? http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html It is actually pureed food technically but boy does it hit the spot!

Good luck! And PS - If you haven't seen this on the board yet, please know that MOST hit a stall at 3 weeks. Do not panic if you do. It is normal. Just stay off the scale if you can and focus on how your clothes are fitting.

@@isa209 - Oh let me tell you that I have weighed pretty much every single day in the last 10 1/2 months (only when I didn't have access to my scale did I miss). As I have neared goal, I need to try and wean off the scale before it drives me crazy so my therapist challenged me to put it away and only weigh once per week. That was Thursday. Today is the first day I actually didn't weigh. :D So definitely easier for me to say than do!!

Keep up the great work!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
