I was sleeved on 4/20. I was on Clear liquids at the hospital and was instructed to move up on my post on diet to cream Soups (no chunks), pudding, etc. I've really been craving eggs. Do you think egg drop Soup falls into this stage of the diet plan or is that more in the baby food section?

it is fine too have egg drop if you can keep it down try a spoon full walk away come back do it again just don't sit and eat it all to this day one year later I cannot go to a Chinese restaurant and eat a 4 course meal do I miss sometimes but I am happier with my new body more so being called fat or people dishing you I rather not eat the 4 course meal as far the egg drop Soup check calories and exercise more than the calorie intake.

I can remember somewhere after that first week when I busted out the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup powder and made that first "bowl" of soup.

The savory flavor went so far beyond the simple Protein shakes.....so far. It's like it reached in my head and slapped me awake.

Now if I'd have thought of it and had proper egg drop soup.......DAYUM.....I may have had a foodgasm right then an there.

I hope your soup is good.....I'm sure it will be.

At the suggestion of a friend, I recently tried a brand new local Chinese spot two weeks ago. Their stir fry was beyond good.....crisp vegetables mixed in with chicken and steak that were perfectly done.......but......but, their Soups were on a whole 'nother level of goodness.

I'm so dang glad I found out a out the spot and really, really glad that I tried 2 of their 5 soups available.

Soup has become a frequent choice of mine in the post-op life. I fish out the meats and have some of the tasty liquids and get great flavor with few calories.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
