Stressful evening...

Hello my peeps... had a stressful evening/night....frightening for my husband's respect in my marriage.... well his marriage because he walks away from any input I have.... I cried and was tempted to go to food to make me happy moment.... I'm so close to surgery (5/18) and still fightening with stress thru food.... BUT I went on a walk at 12:00a cried/ regrouped, didn't eat anything, just read bari pal post....any suggestions or advice for the "fighting stress thru food"... Thanks for you attention.

Sounds like you did well to get through that. I'm sorry that you deal with this in your marriage. I would recommend counseling to talk about stress eating. Here's a good article too. Stay strong and safe!

I will look into counseling for myself... prob refer back to the therapist during preop work up.

It sounds like you found the answer yourself...you were upset...recognized what was going on...were tempted to eat ...but instead let yourself feel the emotions ...cried...and chose an appropriate response of walking and regrouped...and you even reached out for online support....you could have just responded in an unhealthy way by eating through it..but you didn't! You did amazing job handling the stress and should be proud of yourself!
