baileyrahn 0 Posted April 23, 2016 I had my surgery on Tuesday, I'm feeling better day by day but I'm starving! The Water and Popsicles and Jello just aren't cutting it. Any advice? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

KristenLe 5,979 Posted April 23, 2016 It's probably head hunger. But try some GasX or Zantac if allowed. Drink lots!
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted April 23, 2016 Can you have a clear Protein Drink, like Isopure (yuck but it might be filling), Unjury chicken Soup flavor Protein, or Syntrax Nectar?
Kindle 8,667 Posted April 24, 2016 Suck it up buttercup. It's only for a few more weeks. You will have the rest of your life to feel full. Of course that's how we got fat in the first place, huh? Time for a new plan and being hungry sometimes is just part of the package. On the other hand, taking an antacid, getting at least 60g of Protein and at least 64oz of Fluid will probably make those hunger pains go away.
Daisee68 2,493 Posted April 24, 2016 It may just be acid. If you were not prescribed a PPI, then take Zantac. I promise it will help!!
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted April 24, 2016 What specific symptoms of "hunger" are you having? If it's stomach gurgling and rumbling, that's likely acid. We're you prescribed a PPI? If you are seeing commercials for pizza or burgers and getting cravings, that's head hunger. It will take a while for your head to catch onto the fact that you aren't physically capable of eating those foods right now.
laura_rose16 27 Posted April 24, 2016 It's hard being on the liquid diet. But it gets so much better when you can go to the next stage. This too will pass.
Pazza 199 Posted April 24, 2016 I had the same thing, it was driving me crazy. It does get better and easier. It just suck for right now. Wish I had something better to tell you.
OzRoo 1,492 Posted April 24, 2016 I was allowed to add unflavoured Protein powder to my liquids, but I wasn't restricted to clear fluids. Protein really helps with hunger pangs. I had true hunger pangs, even on free fluids. chicken broth helped also. It all got better once I got to the puree stage.
