NSV and my boss

Well, my higher boss hasn't really seen me in about a month. He saw me today and told me I need to stop losing weight because he has to squint now to see me. He said he was looking for me the other day and said he must have missed me because who he was looking for was someone that didn't even resemble who I am now. He said it's a good thing I talk a lot or he'd never know I was around. Ha! Because I know him so well, I took it as a compliment that he intended it to be.

many times people misunderstand what a person might say to them

a compliment is not always received in the good way it was intended

ie "you look so much better than before"

what does that mean, i used to look horrible??

peoples words are usually not said/meant in a bad way

just clumsy

Sounds like he has a sense of humor and was trying to find a way to tell you that all of your efforts to get healthy appear to be paying off. I would take it as a compliment.
