No! Not unless you want to be in pain. Carbonation fills your tiny pouch is painful gas! Don't do that!

If you can't do Water try some coconut water. Coconut water is a natural super hydrator.

As a fresh postop, I wouldn't go near it. Seriously.

Not even taking into consideration the carbonation being a very bad idea that early, caffeine and sodium are both present in most sodas, and they both are dehydrating - they will make you feel worse, not better.

Ive read of sleevers that drink Sprite Zero but flat absolutely know bubbles left in it its not a healthy drink however I was addicted to Coke Zero before surgery I don't think about it anymore luckily.

Why don't you try putting some wedges of lemon and lime in your Water I've put berries in my Water before too I also drink low calorie cordial mix

I was given the approval to have diet sodas yesterday in my 6 month appointment so long as I was getting in all my Water.

I've been so long without the diet sodas and feel much better for it......I don't think I'll return to them.

Water is great to me....have zero problems drinking it and can't understand how folks "can't drink it". I know it's a real concern for them....just one that I can't grasp. There are numerous flavoring options that are easily available.

I am not one who says artificial sweeteners are death - clearly they are low in calories, and that is better than straight sugar. Years ago there were some studies indicating cancer in animals, but those were using very high doses and I have yet to see any rigorous studies showing problems in humans at practical doses. But, there have been studies that indicate that artificial sweeteners make people hungry, just like the real thing, and have other similar signaling properties.

In my opinion, they are okay occasionally, but are not the best for the drinking mainstay. There are some nice unsweetened green and black iced teas these days, and of course you can drink hot tea. If you don't mind a bit of prep, thin slicing an orange, a lemon or a lime (peel on) into a half gallon pitcher of spring Water tastes very nice after steeping in the fridge for at least a few hours.

I'm not sure if you've seen or tried About Time Pro Hydrate, but it's been a lifesaver for me. It's a mineral-enhanced Water that comes in 20oz bottles and also includes 20g of whey Protein isolates. It's a great drink. My NUT recommended it if the shakes were too rough in the early days and it has been a great addition to my daily drinks. It's sweetened with Stevia also, so no artificial sweeteners.

Vitamin Water zero rise orange... I know that I sound like a commercial but that is the bariatric nectar of the gods as far as I'm concerned. I still drink one every morning 8 months out and cannot imagine not having it. Good luck and drink up.

⬆️ This. the Vitamin Water Zeros are excellent. I am good with plain water but do get bored with it some. I have had the orange, the pomegranate, and the squeezed lemon aid and they are all good. My kids even like them.

I could not tolerate Water or artificial sweeteners postop. I drank fruit juice, regular Vitamin water, mlife water, and regular Gatorade/Powerade, all diluted with water. Also pedialyte, Protein Shakes, milk, broth and LOTS of Decaf herbal teas....both hot and iced. The real sugar never impeded my weight loss and staying hydrated was far more important than trying to stay "low cal". Sipped every minute all day from the moment I woke up and didn't go to bed till I'd gotten in my 64oz.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
