Help! Bad shoulder pain

Help! I just got home from the hospital and I have really really severe shoulder pain and nausea. It hurts when I breathe. I could really use some advice!

Hi KarenG.

You are experiencing the "fun" gas pain. Walking or lying down may help the pain. The pain when you breathe is also normal. Try to take deep breathes and cough if you can tolerate it. It helps if you use a pillow against your belly when you cough. All of this will go away, but it may take a few days. I know-I just went through it too. Good luck!

Most of us had it for a few days. They told me to walk a lot and take gas-x, but I decided I didn't want to be annoyed with it and kept dosing liquid Tylenol (and an occasional heating pad). Did you know that they had to blow up your insides with gas so they could work in there during surgery? Weird, huh? It's awful...and it goes away.
