Let's see your hair makeovers!

Recommended Posts

So if you are 1 month post op (like me) or 1 year post op let's see your hair makeovers! I have been hiding behind my long hair for 3 years now. I used it as my security blanket. Well 30lbs down (with a ways to go) I felt the need to finally chop it off. It really meant a lot to me because I'm gaining my confidence back and I haven't felt confident in a very long time!post-257611-14612427648447_thumb.jpg

that's a pretty new look for you! I haven't changed my hair at all really, except that I am more likely to wear it down since I feel cold more often than not now.

Thank you! @@Christinamo7 I'm more shocked at my face. I swear I think I dropped like 3 lbs in my face. You can see my jawline again! I'm cold all the time too btw.

my face has had the most changes so far - I was surprised to see my mother in the mirror one day. :-) I think I look like a pretty good mixture of my parents, but as the weight comes off there seems to be more mom in there. not a bad thing, just not what I expected.

It's weird isn't it? You are so used to seeing yourself a certain way and when the changes start happening it's almost like it's happening to someone else.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
