I know here are a ton of posts on here about the dreaded stall... but I'm 2 weeks post op and haven't lost an ounce in a week! I've been prepared for stalls, but at 1 week? I'm in shock!! Has anyone else experienced this? (Pre-op I lost 15 lbs, the first week post op I lost 8lbs, I'm 240 now)

In the first month after surgery your body is swollen and healing. You may even still be full of Fluid from the hospital.

Just follow your program and focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids.

It's also a good idea to stay off the scale early out and weigh infrequently. I only weighed at my doctors appointments early out.

Please remember that no one loses weight at a constant or steady rate. We all stall. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process.

Embrace the Stall!

Stop. Stop. Stop. This isn't a stall, it's a normal postop course. Your body had major surgery. You have no idea how busy you are on the inside. And you're getting in not many nutrients yet. Let your body get over the trauma of surgery before you expect it to start shedding weight.

I only lost 11 lbs my first two weeks out, at six weeks (tomorrow), that's now > 20 lbs. My best weeks for losing have been the past two - when my body is more healed, and I'm able to get closer to my calorie goal.

I'm the same I'm a month out on the 29th and I didn't loose a thing 12 days straight then the scale moved yesterday I stopped religiously weighing myself everyday as I found I was so disappointed I was being negative and hard on myself I have found the weight loss slower since surgery than my expectations.

Overcome to terms with the dreaded stalls. Happens often. Then out of nowhere I will lose 8 or 10lb durning a few weeks. It just seems to be part of the package. I know how frustrating it gets. But now I try to view getting on the scale with humor. I had 4 weeks where the scale didn't swing in any way. But I'm 7 months out down 94lb so that is a pretty good thing? It will get better. Don't beat yourself up. Things will change. You could always go back to the beginning days and have Protein Shakes for two meals and see if that jump starts you.

Same thing--10 days out, down 14lbs, but the scale hasn't moved. Told myself last night that going forward I'm only weighing myself on Sunday morning. I do let it define my mood for the day, so doing it daily isn't great for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
