I've eaten some hummus with no problems, low fat small curd cottage cheese, cream Soups like chicken, and some baby foods that are low sugar low carb. Not much available in the baby aisle that is low sugar.

I think my system is finally through revolting over some children's tylenol and scrambled eggs that I did not puree. I need to be more patient.

Here is the recipe for Ricotta Bake (may be the same one you have above - I cannot see it). Also some other good ideas.

http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html

I ate a lot of fat free refried Beans with cheese melted on top; hummus (yes just with a spoon); Pimento cheese spread; Laughing Cow cheese wedges; sugar free pudding with 1/2 scoop Protein Powder mixed in; Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt (Key Lime and strawberry Cheesecake are my favorites) with 1/2 scoop Protein powder mixed in....

I like the refried Beans with cheese melted on top a lot. I'll do that one too. I do eat the hummus just with a spoon. Love it. I also love the Dannon Light and Fit Greek Yogurt and I do eat those as well. The scoop of Protein powder mixed in is a great idea for upping protein! Thanks for that advice.

Hi! I got my approval for food yesterday!! I don't have to go to puréed foods, I wonder why? I can have any meats (softer the better) and a whole list of veggies and fruits no bread, no Pasta. Last night I had 2 oz of chicken and 2 tbsp steamed carrots. It was like heaven in my mouth. Hahahaha good luck to everyone getting started with food again!!

Hello Everyone, my name is Carla and today I took the first step and called for an appointment because I'm tired of making excuses, I'm tired of trying to loose weight and working so hard but not seeing a lot of results. I've been thinking about weight loss surgery for so long and today I was on Facebook and saw a friend's post about being 2 weeks post op so I sent her a message with some questions, and we went back and forth for a bit and then I made the call. She told me about this app so I downloaded it and have been reading everyone's experiences and to be honest I'm a little scared now. Reading about people feeling sick, not wanting to get out of bed and not being able to eat is freaking me out! If anyone has the time to message me back and let me know what the steps are from your first appointment on, I would really appreciate it. My appointment isn't until May 11th so I would love to get a heads up on what to expect. Congratulations to all of you and I wish you all the best on your new journeys!

I forgot to mention that I am opting to have the sleeve!

@@Daisysgro Congrats on taking your first step into WLS! Post-op from WLS can be difficult for the first few weeks - but I would bet 99% of those that have posted about not feeling well would do it again in a minute. It's not easy - you have to change your eating habits and lifestyle. Keep looking at this site - and especially some of the posts about success and before & after pictures! Write down your questions to ask your surgeon. Call your insurance and ask what steps are necessary for bariatric surgery approval? What steps after your appointment will depend on your surgeon and your insurance requirements. Many programs have you go to a group informational session, you meet with your surgeon, then most likely have a psych evaluation and a nutritionist evaluation. My insurance requires 6 months of a supervised weight loss program before they will approve (I was not thrilled about that) and I'm using that time to learn more and get some help with some emotional eating issues. Good luck on your journey!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
