ratchet 0 Posted April 21, 2016 Besides meds, my nurse gave me alcohol swabs, had me put one on my nose and take deep breathes. I had an issue with dry heaving my first night. Don't get up too quickly or drink too quickly. *Post-op day 2 Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
FocusOnMeNow 599 Posted April 21, 2016 Zofran phenergan and other anti nausea meds. Also if you are still on any pain meds other than liquid Tylenol they might make you extremely nauseous. Once I woke up from surgery I refused all opiate pain meds because they made me so sick to my stomach. You can also request a scopolamine patch, which lasts for about three days. Because of how sick the pain meds/anesthesia makes me, I had them put the patch on me PRIOR to surgery. Zofran that dissolves in liquid was the first thing in every morning once I was home. Just breathe and walk or pace it helps a lot. Good luck!
Andrea Guadiana 38 Posted April 21, 2016 My surgery date is April 25th and last night I received a bunch of meds in the mail which include liquid Tylenol, scar cream, Lidocaine, Pepcid, Omega 3, Zofran and a nausea patch. I was instructed to put the patch behind my ear the night before surgery to help with the nausea. I sure hope the patch in conjunction with the Pepcid and Zofran will help!!
