rebelchelz 52 Posted April 20, 2016 We submitted to insurance on 4/4 to BCBSOK. Should I contact the insurance company to follow up with this request? I emailed the Dr. office to see if they have heard but have not heard back from them. I was just curious if I should call the insurance or just wait. I'm going crazy I just need to know!! I had called to check on mine a few days after it was submitted and it turned out it went to the wrong fax line - they didn't have any of my paperwork or an open case. rebelchelz 52 Posted April 20, 2016 ok it's going through the appeal process. Not sure why the Dr. sent in the request the first time because they new it would be denied. After my initial consultation a sleep study determined that I did have sleep apnea so it the documentation was re-submitted back to insurance. So now it was sent to the appeals on 4/8 & they have up to 30days to determine. Argh!!!! So frustrating!! I'm like a crazy person just waiting to hear something. jerzygirl227 1 Posted April 20, 2016 I do authorization for a doctors office and they have to submit the initial request, then the appeal if it gets denied. Hopefully you hear sooner than 30 days. tallow2102 16 Posted April 20, 2016 I'm in the same boat. Mine was all submitted last Thursday and I'm dying!!!! I just want to know. Haha! Maybe I'll call my insurance tomorrow and check on it. Mine was submitted just this past Thursday but I might call tomorrow anyway. Might be a bit premature but my husband's was approved in one day! I'm also scared to call. Thanks for posting.Yes I called the 1-800 number and spoke with member services and just explained to them that my doctor submitted paperwork for a surgery and I just wanted to know if it had been approved or not yet.
