I was sleeved on 3/21/16. Lost 16 pounds pre op and 24 pounds post op. Now I'm stalled. It's very frustrating at this point. I stopped weighing myself until my 2nd followup with doc on the 26th. Hoping for some good results.

Congratulations on great results!

Search the forum for "three week stall". It's a common occurrence and completely normal. You've lost 40 pounds in a short period of time, and your body needs a period of adjustment. It generally occurs sometime in the 2-4 week period after surgery and can last a few days or even several weeks.

You will have other periods of stall along the way, just embrace them as a necessary part of the journey.

My advice? Relax! I know it's scary to see a "stall" when you may have had weight loss failures in the past. I'm at 1 year 3 months out from surgery and saw several stalls. They'd usually be followed by a pretty rapid drop in weight. My weight didn't go down in a straight line, it was more like a staircase. Keep moving, drinking, and staying positive. The weight will come off, don't stress out about it!

I've lost 110 lbs, btw. :)

I feel your pain I was sleeved on 3/29 and I have only lost 13lbs since, I don't know if this is a stall or if I am not doing something wrong. I weight myself once a week and the scale hasn't moved it really sucks I am trying to not think about it too much.

@@choicemun Are you getting your Protein, Water, and Vitamins in? Are you moving around some? If so, you are doing it right. The weight will come off. I "only" lost 14 pounds my first moth post-op, but I still reached my goal and I've been maintaining below goal for 8 months now. This isn't a race.

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Everyone experiences stalls and slow downs in weight loss. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. Almost everyone experiences a stall about three weeks post-op.

Just follow your program.

Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids.

Avoid starches, added sugars, and fried food.

Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed.

Exercise when cleared.

Stay off the scale if you let it bother you.

And, embrace the stall!

I was sleeved one day after you and I've been stalled for about two weeks. I made my husband hide the scale from me because it was really impacting my mood. I had my one month follow-up on Friday and the surgeon is very happy with my progress. I have to keep reminding myself that 22 pounds in four weeks is amazing and I could not have done that with any other diet plan. We have to just keep on trucking and wait for this to end. Good luck!!

I was sleeved on the same day. I lost a total of 34 pounds and I've been at a stall for 3 weeks. It does get very frustrating. Reading the other responses are giving me some encouragement. I'm hoping I didn't have this surgery for nothing.
