Proud2BMe 1,016 Posted April 19, 2016 It's a sign you aren't getting enough liquids. Increase your Water intake.

kaitlynm 335 Posted April 19, 2016 I think this is pretty common. I'm 6 mos out and I think it is worse now than closer to my surgery. I get in plenty of liquids and always take my Vitamins. Just stock up on lots of lotion. I really notice it on my face now.
BigTink2LilTink 723 Posted April 19, 2016 Yeah my skin hated me for the first 6 to 8 months post surgery. Besides getting in the fluids and Vitamins, I switched body wash to a shea coco-butter base body wash and shampoos. That helped with my dry cracked skin big time. Juhygtfrdsd 154 Posted April 19, 2016 Ooo gonna try that! Im doing a virgin coconut oil wrap on my head on thur (30 min process) and i have a honey and brown sugar scrub
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted April 19, 2016 my favorite thing is to use coconut oil as a body oil. I float it in a warm epsom salts bath and when I get out I towel off and baste myself in the melted warm oil. it is heavenly! I use WEN on my hair, so I also haven't had any scalp dryness, but there are products out there you could try or you could do a hot oil treatment too. dry skin is so annoying. I hope you can find what works for you.

NeedaBreak4Me 1,755 Posted April 19, 2016 Whenever i have really dry skin... i make a mix of olive oil and coconut oil and rub it on my scalp... leave it for an hour and wash per normal.... its a miracle worker for dry skin... I do smell like a salad for an hour... but hey... relief is relief lol
2goldengirl 2,076 Posted April 19, 2016 It isn't just fluids that you need - it's fats. So many postop diets make everything fat-free that without some healthy fat you run the risk of not being able to make use of your fat-soluble Vitamins. Make sure there is some form of healthy fat in your diet, even a small amount.
