Kimmey16 54 Posted April 19, 2016 I am a day away from being 3 weeks post op. My Dr told me to try soft food and if they tolerate well I can try to bring in a different food ever 3 days.. I tested positive for the H. polyrid and I am on antibiotics for that. I really don't have an urge to eat. On a typical day in the morning I may have a Protein shake or oatmeal. lunch someone told me to try Wendy's chili. So I have. I may have a can of tuna. And at night I don't eat anything. Do anyone have any food choices and help that will help me out. I am really sick and have a bad feeling in my stomach. KristenLe 5,979 Posted April 19, 2016 You need to eat small amounts throughout the day. My NUT told me to eat every 3 hours or so but very small meals (concentrating on protein). You could try cottage cheese, Greek yogurt (watch the sugar content though), Beans, Soup, soft boiled eggs, hummus, ground chicken or turkey). Be sure to drink plenty of Water or non-caloric drinks. Watch the oatmeal for sugar content too! You should be sure to eat at night even if you don't feel like it! Your stomach pains very likely could be from either the H Pylori or antibiotic. Hope you are doing better soon!

James Marusek 5,244 Posted April 19, 2016 The three most important requirements after RNY gastric bypass surgery is to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fats into the energy that drive your body. Thus you lose weight. It is also important to get 30 minutes of walking in each day to maximize your weight loss. This is my experience with the "Weight Loss" phase. I have included some recipes at the end of the article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf
