Hi all, Georgia gal here, I had surgery august 1 2012. Since then, I have lost 300 lbs, now stuck, gotten married, dealt with depression getting worse, recovering from major foot reconstruction, and just need support from like minded people... I am at this point mainly because I've let myself get here, but I'm so afraid of gaining again... my husband has never been over 200 lbs and just doesn't seem to get it. Idk I'm doing over eaters anonymous online now. just would like to share tips and talk etc..

Thanks for reading,

Jen

hey, welcome! this place is an amazing resource. you'll find lots of like-minded individuals here who can understand your triumphs and struggles in a way no one else can. It's been invaluable to me since even before my surgery last August.

I'm having an ACL reconstruction in just a couple weeks... not looking forward to being laid up during my "honeymoon" phase of weight loss, but hey, shit happens. *shrug* We all just do what we can with the tools we are given and hope for the best. 300 pounds lost is no small feat! That's incredible!

If there's ever anything I can help you with, feel free to friend/message me any time. I love making new friends. And the people here are all very friendly and kind, and generally just want to help. Don't be a stranger. ^_^

Thank you! I have found a lot of non weight bearing exercises to do on floor, after you get past your first 1 or 2 weeks... **** does happen, but it's going to be better once the sitting is over! I got a knee walker and that has been my savior bc I've been able to go walk outside and stuff.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
