Hello Out There August 2016 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

I have no idea... Just the Campbell's cream of Tomato and cream of mushroom made with skim milk. I've only had 1 serving a day though.

Mine hasn't changed as much as yours. I was 301.7 on 8/9 DOS and have been at 294.3 for the last 3 days lol I guess my body is angry. Are you on only clears? I can have Protein shakes and strained cream Soups, too. And AF started today so that could be another issue, lol!

Out of curiosity are the Soups you are eating carb heavy? Carbs are a concern of mine because I'm a vegetarian

If I were you I'd switch soups. Granted every program is different I admit I'm kind of surprised that you have been cleared for all foods already. I'm looking forward to eating soft food by the end of this week, whoo hoo!

"@@Lee Mag" Canned soups have alot of sodium so you may be retaining fluids.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have full confidence in my surgeon. He's nationally recognized and the director of the program here in Pittsburgh, so I am sure he knows what he is doing. I think all surgeons are just different. He has never had a staple line leak nor death, so I'm going to roll with it. :) But I'm not cleared for all foods. I can have Clear Liquids, Protein Shakes, strained (watery) cream Soups.< /p>

I'm on full liquids and it's been fine! I'm just learning this. I'm sure there is an easier way with the app, but I signed up on my computer with Facebook and can't figure out how to login to the app since it doesn't give me a FB option. So I just use the browser on my iPhone. If you click the post, it will say "Quote". That's how I did it. If I get time today, I might get on my computer and figure it all out better. I have 3 small girls, so we shall see if I do get time. LOL!

Cool hows the liquid diet going. Exercising?? .. Quick question how do like posts and how do u reply to a specific post like that.

Thanks

You will do great! I haven't had any issues with being dizzy aside from once this weekend when I ran up my steps too fast.

My poor belly is all bruised, lol. I have to give myself Lovenox injections because I had a pulmonary embolism 4 years ago after the birth of my youngest daughter. So I'm on those for 4 weeks post surgery. So keep walking! It's good to keep moving. :) wouldn't wish that on anyone!!!

I don't know the official answer except I've been sleeping on my belly since the 3rd night, careful not to slide around at all. It's been great and got all of my lingering gas out. Haha I would say follow your body/pain. I don't have any and haven't been on meds since DOS.

My doctor strongly recommends that we try to take in at least 64oz. per day. Initially it was hard for me, only being able to take in sips at a time. But, now (13 days post op), I feel like I can drink like I used to without a problem. I’m able to drink 20oz of Protein in about 30-45 minutes.

Ok so I have a question. How many ounces do y'all drink at a time?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
