Monie717 183 Posted April 16, 2016 When did you eat sushi again? I'm thinking spicy tuna roll, or shaggy dog, or ANYTHING?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
BarrySue 602 Posted April 16, 2016 I had it a month out, but I didn't really enjoy it. I ended up doing the smoked eel as sashimi--the rice kills it for me. Nine months out I have it occasionally, but honestly, it isn't the same. I LOVE the spicy tuna and spicy crab rolls, but I tend to peel off some of the rice because it just gets too filling too quickly.
JenniferP1 75 Posted April 16, 2016 Sashimi -- or rolls without rice -- prob 2+ months out.
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted April 16, 2016 Probably 6 months out. I think. Given the choice between sashimi and something like California roll, I still go with sashimi. But at 20 months out, I've had it all. Love my sushi!

jhclikesshopping@gmail.com 285 Posted April 18, 2016 I eat sushi - no rice all the time. Started at about 1 month out. My place now makes spicy tuna with cucumber instead of rice as a regular on their menu. Crazy yummy...
Leesa926 72 Posted April 18, 2016 About 1 month out. I tell them light rice but so far haven't had any issues with rice.
LVGhostgirl 84 Posted April 20, 2016 Spicy did not agree with me anymore, but at 4 weeks..... I can and still can eat a piece. So I make it hamachi!
LisaC71 7 Posted April 20, 2016 I just had sushi tonight, 4 weeks out. Mushy food. I did not have rice so just took the fish (salmon and tuna) off the rice and ate it plain.
Sophie74656 1,572 Posted April 21, 2016 I have no issues with rice. I just don't like it. I figure since i have so little space in my tummy if im going out for sushi im filling what little space i have with the yummy fish not the bland rice
goplay94123 575 Posted April 21, 2016 One month out. I had sashimi Walu (white fish) with no rice. It went fine even with wasabi. I also had a spicy scallop roll hand roll but just ate the scallops in a bit of the seaweed. I have been going to happy hour and because of the small amount I eat it is super inexpensive. I probably have it 2 times a week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
FrankyG 1,450 Posted April 21, 2016 I eat sushi/sashimi about 2-3 times a week. Started eating sashimi at 3 months and was just fine. Usually I eat 3 pieces of salmon sashimi and then 2-3 small pieces of a sushi roll (usually lobster roll lately). I do tend to take out about half the rice from the roll's pieces tho. I'm about 1 year, 4 months out now.
Sophie74656 1,572 Posted April 21, 2016 I have noticed that sashimi goes down very easily. I can actually eat about 2/3 of a full sashimi meal
treblecutie23 318 Posted April 21, 2016 I've learned to LOVE the riceless rolls! A lot of places will turn things riceless if you ask.
