OKCPirate 5,323 Posted April 15, 2016 yes and it sucks. I am convinced it depends on altitude. I only puke when I am in Colorado. I am in OKC most of the time, so a major change from 250' to 12000' has an effect on my diaphragm.
Necie 7 Posted April 16, 2016 Yes that was the worst time for me but I can't express how important it is to walk. Walking will move that gas around and eventually you will pass gas and belch. Trust it's a great feeling. But walking is the key as for volmiting it happens and it is trial and error. Trust me you will be more aware of what your not ready for. 2goldengirl 2,076 Posted April 16, 2016 Vomiting is VERY common after surgery. Did you get sent home with medication for nausea? Use it! Keep your sips small, a lot of us have the issue with vomiting if we eat too fast - and that includes liquids. Finally, I know it's the weekend, but if you get concerned, call your surgeon. Somone is always on call 24/7.
peachyproblem 0 Posted April 16, 2016 I know it sucks right now, but walk, walk, walk! It'll help with the gas pain. If you're on something for nausea but still feeling nauseous have your doctor call in something else. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
future Mrs 26 Posted April 17, 2016 Yes , had my surgery 4/14/16 and can't eat anything without getting sick or throwing up. Usually only Water makes me throw up but everything else makes me feel like I am going to throw up. Barry W 336 Posted April 17, 2016 Besides the walk-walk-walk, the other mantra to repeat is to consume small amounts, consume them slowly, stop at the first feeling of fullness, and for any foods, chew-chew-chew. You have had roughly 85% of your stomach removed, so it's not "just" that your portions should be cut in half, they should be cut by 3/4 or more...
