Surgery date is may 31

Recommended Posts

in canada it is completly covered. I could have had an earlier surgery date but I'm in no hurry, have an important conference to attend in early may then i will have the surgery done. Well the conference is same day as surgery so the conference is out.

My fear:

-Restless leg syndrome, this seem to be common and i do not want this.

-Complications, worries me a bit.

-Was at 320 lbs lost 50 lbs i'm 6'3" so i'm tall, this surgery is for my diabetes. Im very optimistic that this will help this greatly.

Thanks for listening

Mine is June 2. I was offered May 12, but that would be tricky with work.

do you suffer any restless leg syndrome or any other complications, I really worried about complications. I do not have restless leg now and would not want to have this after the surgery. also, I wasn't worried but now that the date is set in stone, I am getting apprehensive.

I suppose a little bit of this is normal.

Thanks for listening.

My restless leg kicks up only when my thyroid is off - same post-op as pre-op. Just have to keep having thyroid checked as I absorb the thyroid replacement med differently now.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
