Jackie1970 1 Posted March 7, 2017 Hi Cally, It's almost been 6 months since my operation, I can honestly say it is the best thing I ever did, I started at 132 kgs and I'm now 83 kgs, I won't lie to you, it's a bit of a learning curve but now I can almost eat a little of anything now, milk is still a bit of a problem though. Be prepared to spend a fortune on clothes, I've gone from 42 inch waist to 32. I have a little loose skin but no big deal. Best of luck
CallyMGB 2 Posted March 7, 2017 Thanks Jackie, that's incredible really, you must be thrilled, yes I'm kind of prepared mentally for the big change, but obviously still very nervous but it's reassuring to hear from someone who has been through it, I plan to be back in work in 10 days post op, I work in an office so do you think that's realistic? Any other tips? Thanks for your post x
Jackie1970 1 Posted March 7, 2017 I think 10 days is the minimum, I thought I would be back the following week but I needed the 10 days, while there was no ( or very little) pain and uncomfortableness in the days following the operation, it is I suppose a big assault on your system so take your time. The only tip I can give is, when you think you are full, stop eating straight away, if you overdo it, it can get uncomfortable. I am very happy with the path I chose, honestly, there are times that I wish I could eat a whole bowl of tribeca chicken wings, but I have never felt disappointed when I leave half of them behind. I had my surgery with Dr. Chris last Tuesday in Belgium and I live in Ireland as well. Would be great to hear how it has been so far? My story is quite similar to yours. Have been struggling for 18 years and gone through many cycles of losing a lot of weight, but then gaining it again. I am on full liquids and it is going quite well. Getting a bit bored of the shakes though as I am on them since 2 weeks pre-op Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App Hi. How are you ? CallyMGB 2 Posted April 22, 2017 Hi there, how r u doing? I had MGB in March with Dr Chris, doing well, I'm down 1 stone 5 lbs and I feel great, weight loss has slowed down a lot but I'm feeling like I'm still losing, I find it's important to eat often as you can only eat small bits at a time

I am just starting all the process and kind of not sure what the next step. Are you in Ireland too? You did all the pre op tests in the day of the surgery or before? Could you help me and advise me what the step ? Can't wait to do the surgery . How are you feeling at the moment? Recovered? 1 Lauren_90 reacted to this
