Eating the same meals

@@Lisa_85 If you're on all foods....how about. pulled chicken (cook it in the crock pot or pressure cooker until it falls apart)...then make a chicken salad using fat free mayo and slice a few grapes and add a few almond slices....have it over a bed of lettuce

here's another idea...spiral sliced zucchini squash....(like noodles).....steam the zucchini and use some of your pulled chicken mixed with 98% fat free cream of chicken Soup and have that over the zucchini...

What do you like?

Try fish, tuna, turkey, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, etc.

My Breakfast this morning was Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries.

Yesterday for dinner I cut up some Tomato, and added some tzatziki sauce, a little feta, Kalamata olives and mixed it into cottage cheese.< /p>

Oh I'm so glad to see you can eat tomatoes. I was afraid they'd be too acidic. That's one of my foods I'll be sad if I can't eat after surgery.

Some of my favorite staple foods, which change I find overtime based on what my body wants have included:

Organic or non-GMO project certified yogurts-the higher Protein the better. I always put granola and/or berries in my yogurt.

Nuts: cashews, walnuts, almonds

Cheese: high-end, grass fed, snobby cheeses LOL

The occasional Protein Bar.

Fruit: bananas, berries, oranges, pomegranate seeds, pears, apples

Occasionally, some soft cooked meat

coffee with Protein powder.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
