I start soft foods next week and I got a list of foods I can have, but I wanted to know what foods you guys how have pass that stage use to eat.

I don't like cooking or coming up with things so I can really use the help. Thank you all.

pampered chef has a recipe for touch down taco dip that is seasoned refried Beans with a topping of cream cheese and sour cream. I loved it without the toppings in soft food. I ate it off a spoon and the family had it with chips and toppings. it was SO FABULOUS.

also, since I don't eat fish, my NUT approved me to try canned or slow cooker chicken and scrambled eggs. I ate a lot of Beans and eggs in that stage. well. still do.

I had baked fish the whole time. If you go the fish route get something white and flaky, not salmon.

Lately I have fallen hard for Trader Joe's soy-ginger cod fillets. The only cooking you do is to empty it out of the package and throw in in the oven for 15". It's heavenly, and the sauce both keeps the fish soft and helps it go down more easily. Huz usually fixes some broccoli or potatoes to go with, all I have room for at the moment is the fish. I've been successful reheating it at 50% power in the microwave.

Refried Beans are another daily dish, because they're my main source of Fiber these days.

I never thought I would love a poached egg so much as I did in soft food phase:).

I bake salmon as its so so soft and I mix it into a small amount of mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes but it's mostly salmon it goes down better than white fish for me as its more oily I am too low on the calorie side at the moment if I was counting calories I may find salmon higher than white fish but for me now it's a life saver. I cannot keep down reheated foods as they are to dry it has to be freshly cooked

I also eat yogurt

Scrambled egg

Cottage cheese

And not much else

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
