I'm two weeks post op today . I started back to work monday( I don't know if that has any thing to do with it or if it's the timeline) well when I wake up I immediately take a shower and when I get out I feel super nauseous and my heart races and I'm losing my breath. Now it goes away after my drive to work which is almost an hour ... I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this or knew what was causing it because it's super uncomfortable . Thanks!

Ps. Maybe tmi but I also get the feeling like I really have to poop. Really bad but of course I'm just out so its hard to go. Could that be related?

Don't know abt the bathroom part, but in the first month I was EXHAUSTED after I took a shower. My heart raced & I was out of breath & sometimes a little light-headed. It was SO ridiculous. I've never been one to nap, but I had to rest or nap after every shower. I'm 3 months out & don't really much need a nap unless I've done some intense exercise like walked 1-1.5 hrs the day before (I live in a hilly area) & that's about all that catches up w/ me now the next day. Listen to your body as best you can & get ready for a fantastic journey! Good luck!!!

sounds to me like you're expending more calories by the physical activity than you're taking in ( at least at that time of day )

that happened to me too ... so I had to be sure to try my best to balance things out ... it's tricky that early out ... especially having to get up and function ...

but it's a balance that it well worth the struggle !

You got this!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
