Weight loss Pause

Recommended Posts

KristenLe, thanks. I can usually get more of those down than clear Water. It's a struggle. Maybe I'm too anxious. I wanted to have lost at least 50 pounds by now but maybe that's too much. My supervisor had her sleeve done on December 31st 2015 and she's currently lost 103 pounds. She is a lot heavier than I am. I wonder is that the reason she's losing more faster. What do you think?

I'm sure that's why she's lost faster. You're doing great - just keep following the plan. You have to get enough Protein and Water to lose. Your goal was probably a little unrealistic but you'll get there soon I'm sure! :-)

you have probably lost close to the same percentage of extra weight as her, as the heavier you are the more actual pounds you loose faster. but the percentage of extra is about the same. I am 2 1/2 months out and have lost almost 30% of my extra weight. that's pretty darn good. but it's only a little more than 30 pounds.

I don't care though because it *is* coming off! I am focused on moving my body and eating good foods. learning a healthy relationship with food is the most important thing we can do during this first year.

Maybe so. Ok. Another thing that really made me wonder is because my supervisor came back to work, 3 weeks post op, eating Sonic's Little Chickies, Chili's and Wendy's. Although she couldn't eat a lot of it, it's still the caloric intake and bad for you. I'm like wow, really!!??

Christinamo7, thank you for that. I was kind of getting upset about it. This blog really helps. At first I didn't think it would.

you're welcome. I don't remember who posted about the percentages when I was newly sleeved and freaking out, but it has proven to be a great comfort to me when I don't feel like the scale is moving fast enough!

Yes I frequently used Crystal Light, iced tea with no sugar, Water with a little apple juice to get my Water in. SFPopsicles.Whatever works for you.

PinkyPearly1908, I to am glad to know that someone is feeling what I'm feeling at this time after being sleeved. I have a hard time getting a lot of water in each day. It seems, from other posts, that water is essential for weight loss with the sleeve. I just need to sit under a waterfall with my mouth open I guess! Lol! It's so hard. Do you think that using crystal light or other sugar free drink mixes in your water is the same as clear water?

That scale is mean to me! It looks me dead in the eye and doesn't back down! Lol!

I'm 7 weeks post op and the scale hates me too. Doesn't matter what I do - it won't budge. I've adjusted my calories down, I've adjusted my carbs down, I've tried adjusting both up - makes no difference. I'm down 30 lbs but that number has moved in 2 weeks and it's frustrating! Not sure what else to do at this point. I eat between 700-900 calories and generally keep the carbs to 50-60. I also take in bwrween 70-90 in Protein. Any suggestions?

- Anne

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
