It takes a while for your body to adjust. You are still healing. chicken can be tough so avoid it for a little while. Stick with softer foods for a while if you need to. I had to for a long time. What kind of Protein drink are you using? Premier Protein ready made drinks are only 11 oz and 30g Protein. If you haven't tried those, give them a try.

food just does not taste the same. I'm almost 5 weeks out and I can't eat chicken I gag to get it down, I can do shrimp and fish. But that all I've been trying. Help please any suggestions? Still can't get a whole Protein shake down some times..

It sounds like you are having at least some problems with capacity - chew like crazy and keep portions smaller.

As far as the firmness of chicken, the supermarket should have ground chicken and ground turkey, and you could make for example chili with that and kidney Beans and/or black Beans, which have additional Protein.< /p>

Another thing they might sell is pulled chicken, which is shredded chicken breast in BBQ Sauce.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
