Nurse_Lenora 903 Posted April 11, 2016 I am loving scallops! Per myfitnesspal one large scallop its 35 calories and 5 grams of Protein. They are beautiful little chunks of Protein and a blank canvas so you can pair them with so many flavors! My current favorite is garlic and then I use Chardonnay to deglaze the pan and make a light sauce ..... What's your favorite way to make scallops ?
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted April 11, 2016 So far I haven't cooked my own, but would like to. Following for ideas and recipes. So far, the best scallops I have eaten post-op were at a Japanese hibachi restaurant.
needtorecover 574 Posted April 11, 2016 I looooooooove scallops but only buy them when they're on sale because they are quite $$ I love the way they taste alone (slightly sweet with a hint of ocean). I cook them in butter and lightly salt/pepper.
determinedtolive 134 Posted April 11, 2016 I so love seafood with scallops being a top fave. I have pan fried them with some fresh minced garlic, a bit of sea salt and pepper and eaten with a side of homemade salsa. Yum!

Gurl4god 3 Posted April 11, 2016 when did you guys start eating seafood, shrimp, scallops lobster is it hard to get down? And steak too! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
katesuccess 990 Posted April 11, 2016 Great thread! I LOVE scallops! Yes, they're pricey, so sometimes I buy the frozen bag of larger sea scallops and they aren't as high as fresh ones. I like them seared in the pan with a bit of garlic and then deglaze with either dry sherry, Madeira or white balsamic vinegar. Soooo good.
CHM 1,009 Posted April 11, 2016 Great guys, now I'm going to be hankering for scallops... I like mine salted and peppered, seared, glazed with a pan sauce of brown butter, white wine, shallots, lemon juice and zest, then finished with a sprinkle of fresh flat-leaf parsley. Yum! kaitlynm 335 Posted April 11, 2016 I found a recipe on Pinterest for grilled scallops and orange kebabs with a honey ginger glaze. They were wonderful! I'm always a little nervous about over cooking them because they are so expensive, but I got it just right on the grill.
Nurse_Lenora 903 Posted April 11, 2016 They are so easy make and I always buy the frozen ones.....I only grocery shop one day a week so fresh isn't really an option for me .
tappingmom 85 Posted April 11, 2016 when did you guys start eating seafood, shrimp, scallops lobster is it hard to get down? And steak too! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App I started eating scallops once I was on soft foods. I still eat them frequently because they're easy to get down and they're yummy! I'm 4 months out and still struggle with steak and shrimp. Used to like lobster, can't stand the stuff now. Fish, especially tilapia and halibut, are also frequently on the menu.
