Haha, Thanks sleevyk!!

Rydersmama, I started at 330. Surgery weight was 323 lbs, I weighed in this morning at 158 lbs. I've lost 172 lbs since my very first orientation visit with my doctor.

First of all sunshine you look amazing!! I'm 320 and hopefully having sleeve. Did you have any skin removal or did it pop back pretty well?

I have been really, very lucky. No skin removal surgeries and none planned. My bariatric surgery was not covered by insurance, so I KNOW plastic surgery wouldn't be. I have a small bit of skin on my lower tummy and a small bit on my upper arms, but nothing that I am currently concerned about. I work out quite a bit, though, so that has helped :)

@@dashofsunshineWhat have your workouts consisted of?So far I've been bike riding, swimming and walking, but I haven't started any strength training yet with weights. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I used to love bike riding in high school and I have such an amazing Quintana Roo racing bike, but I don't have a bike rack for my car anymore, so it just sits unused in our shed, sadly! If I'm training for a race, I run 3-4 days per week and do strength training/lifting twice per week. When I'm not training for a race or I just want to switch it up, I do boot camp a few times per week instead of running 4 days. I lift heavy and I average 4 or 5 miles per run (I have my sights set on a half marathon next February).

I also really love Shaun T's workouts, especially T25 on days that I'm rushed!

not at goal yet. first 20lbs pretty much flew off but after that i had to work my butt off lol.

work out 3 to 5 days a week. always do cardio and then some weights. try not to eat sugar, carbs, caffeine or alcohol. i cheat a little here and there but mostly i stay on track. can't over eat cuz....well cuz i can't so that's good lol. original goal weight was 160 but now i'm thinking of going to 150 or even 140. i'm in a loose 12 right now. would like to see what it's like to be in single digit size! good luck everyone.

I am 1 month out and I only lost 13 pounds. Didn't loss nothing this week, depress, I get hungry. Did you do the same?

Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Patricia.... I hope you don't take this wrong... But, you should stop saying... I only lost 13lbs... Girl you lost 13lbs. in one month... that is amazing. Think how long that would have taken you doing any other diet.... Your doing great. I remember when i said that... Many years ago, and was depressed when i saw everyone else losing fast and i wasn't... then a friend gave them the same advice to stop saying the word... ONLY.... Now im glad for the slow loss... my skin was able to go back better and as a result i only had to have a tt. My advice to you, not that you asked.... But, start hitting the gym if you haven't already. I started with Zumba... and progressed from there.

Remember we all gained weight differently and we all lose differently..... but the main focus is you and your WL journey...

I have this quote on my mirror in my bathroom because i was always comparing my self to others. There will always be someone prettier and thinner.. But there will always be someone less attractive and largger.... Envy is the Thief of Happiness....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
