Recommended Posts

That's weird since I'm one month post op and I feel like my sex drive is alot higher than my partners.

That sounds more like a UTI then. Should def go to GYN just in case,

Uh oh. I probably do then. Because after we tried it burned like hell to pee.

Just experienced this today. My sex drive has gone up since post-op but sex is difficult. No real scaring or wounds. My openings look more like scratches. So I felt comfortable giving it a try but it was not a good plan. Lol

Ditto UTI, at about 2 months post op I had gotten bad about getting all my 64oz of Water in daily. Hubby and I had intercourse and it was exactly as you described. I hadn't had a UTI in so long that I didn't figure out what was going on until I started having some lower back pain and blood in my urine. Went to MD and sure enough it ended up being a UTI. They said they are very common post VSG if you are not getting all of your Water in.

Hey ladies! Update lmao: I went to the gyno just as a precaution, no uti- I was getting off my period, and I had just taken a tampon out. I didn't even put two and two together, I feel so dumb wasting a trip there, but now I know lol. Me and my partner waited another week and we tried again and everything was functioning normally, and a lot better too

You get an "A+" for effort in my book, though.

My surgeon told me to wait at least 3 weeks so I haven't tried yet but I sure hope it's not affected

Three weeks???? I didn't even wait three weeks after a C-section! Maybe your surgeon thinks missionary, man-on-top is the only position.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
