What NSV do you hope for post op?

Recommended Posts

I have a few that I am happy about being able to do soon.

*** Sitting on a chair without my arms folded in front of me to hide my flubbers.

*** Being comfortable enough to wear a bathing suit to the beach.

*** Not being so insecure that I need a jacket everywhere I go to hide my body.

*** My back, ankle and knee not hurting anymore.

*** Taking a crazy amount of pictures at places I go to.

I'm tired of being ashamed of my appearance... Good luck to everyone!

Going back to belly dance. I don't like "exercise" but I love to dance. I'm so out of shape now my heart rate maxes out just walking for a few minutes. In the same vein, I want to drag my husband to swing dance lessons.

Other than that, many of the same things other people have said - fit in "normal" chairs and airline seats, shop at "regular" clothes stores, less pain in joints.

I can relate to a lot of things other posters said. The one thing I can't wait for is being able to get a shoulder purse that fits my arms and looks proportionate to my body.

Jumping on a trampoline, swinging, riding rides with my daughter.

Not sweating all the time.

Being able to wear non plus size clothes.

My husband being able to pick me up .

Getting my sex drive back!

So many more things, these were just the first I thought of.

For starters:

Being able to play with my 8-yr old son more. He just came in the room and told me "your the best dad ever." All three of my kids are great but I've gotten better now since my wife and I have 3 (no more!) I just want to run and play with my baby. Take walks with him, take him to the zoo, hiking in caverns, and go to his school to pick him up without feeling self conscious about how I look. This is my #1 NSV

To walk into Talbots and buy size 8 pants/shorts/skirt. Any size 8 bottom. To walk into any department store and shop in any of the departments not just Plus. To paint my own toenails. To not looks like the Goodyear Blimp at my older daughter's HS Graduation in June 2017.

This may be silly, especially since it might not happen for me genetically.... but I really want to see my collar bones.

I'm simple, my wake up call was the team of guys at 6 flags that had to push down on the roller coaster safety bar so I could ride.

I just want to get on and secure the safety bar without a team pushing

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
