bellabeans 74 Posted April 10, 2016 Did anyone ever get so nervous before surgery that you had to be given something to calm your nerves? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Proud2BMe 1,016 Posted April 10, 2016 I didn't. I've heard it from others though. It's usually not a biggie. The only thing I remember was lying down on the table and then waking up in a dark room thinking the surgery hadn't taken place yet. I was excited about the surgery and was anxious to get it done. I've heard other peopel have been given a valium but honestly it's not needed. More and more of sleeve surgeries are being done as outpatient.
sleevenv 483 Posted April 10, 2016 Uh, yes! Perfectly normal for many. It's major surgery. Get a chill pill and it'll help!
thinnerS 15 Posted April 10, 2016 My sleeve surgery is in 5 days and I am so nervous I can't sleep eat or anything I do my mind is only worrying about the operation. It gives me chills because I keep analyzing over and over again. I am so scared
treblecutie23 318 Posted April 10, 2016 Totally normal!!!! I told my cute anesthesiologist before getting wheeled back. He gave me something extra before bringing me into the OR. lol. Whatever it was it was a life saver and kept me from FREAKING out!
