mid 16 Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) I need to pick a Multivitamin, preferable liquid. Any suggestion? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Edited April 9, 2016 by mid
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted April 9, 2016 I used Wellesse liquid Multi-Vitamin for the first several weeks after surgery. I did a double dose, one in the morning, one at night. My lab work was always great. It didn't taste bad to me, but was definitely better if kept in the fridge. The cheapest place I found to buy it was on Amazon. They sold a two-pack that was a pretty good deal.
Athenyx 51 Posted April 9, 2016 I don't think I've seen liquid ones about anywhere - though you've got a recommendation from the more observant Bufflehead :-D Have you thought about the chewable ones? Not the Gummy sweet-like chewy ones, but the ones that turn to powder on your tongue? I used Centrum fruity chewables and they were fine - Multivitamins and multiminerals (surprisingly, a lot of these multivitamins don't include the multiminerals). lifeofblair 308 Posted April 9, 2016 I just use Flintstones. They have everything I need and my nut recommended them. The store brand is cheaper, but make my mouth super dry, so I have to take them in the morning

ironpoorer 88 Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Is there any danger in taking too many Vitamins? Not that I take hundreds but I take an extra Vitamin every day. Also I take 3500 units of Vitamin B 12 sublingual weekly as I have read of concerns of B 12 deficiency; has anybody had any issues with B 12 absorption due to the loss of the factor which helps you absorb it? 2goldengirl 2,076 Posted April 9, 2016 I also use Flintstones chewables. They were the only thing I tried with Iron that didn't upset my stomach. And they're cheap, and readily available.
lifeofblair 308 Posted April 9, 2016 I can't seem to find other multivitamins that have Iron in the store.
mid 16 Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Thank you all so much! There is also a Centrum liquid, with Iron, which I will try.... @2goldengirl: I was instructed to take a Multivitamin with minerals and iron daily, and also B12 sublingual. After reading several posts about loss of hair, I also included Biotin to my list. I want to be ready for my after surgery, which will be Monday! Thank you all! kaitlynm 335 Posted April 10, 2016 I'm with @shortstuff4ever78. I take the Bariatric Advantage multi Vitamin with Iron capsule. I also take 2 calcium chews every day. The bottle lasts a long time and has everything including the B-12 and Biotin in it. I have been lucky and have had no Hair loss and my blood ork is coming back perfect. I have had pernicious anemia in the past and had to get B-12 shots, but so far I'm doing fine without the shots right now. That was one reason my Dr recommended the sleeve for me. I'm about 6 mos out.
