carlissaRN 0 Posted April 9, 2016 Hello all! I have been lurking in the background here for awhile now. I am 45 years old, 5'4 and weigh 235 pounds and have decided to take the plunge. I just had my first visit with my surgeon 1 week ago and had the work up and visit with nutritionist Wednesday....my BMI is 40.3 with slightly elevated HTN, A1C of 6.1 and high cholesterol. I am an RN and very excited to get this process started to healthier new me. I have a tentative date of 4/27, pending insurance approval but I already know they will approve it. My surgeon does not require any weight loss prior to surgery and there is only 1 visit with social worker and nutritionist required for auth. I'm seeing so many on here have had to jump through hoops and do all this stuff prior to surgery. Is there anyone else who had a fast, easy pre surgical experience as I am having? Looking forward to making new buddies. Carlissa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bellabeans 74 Posted April 9, 2016 @@carlissaRN That's great I hope mine goes that fast. I too am a nurse. I have 1199 insurance which is common for healthcare workers hoping it's a breeze. I'm really nervous Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
