Just to let you know, I still have to drink 2 shakes a day on my puree diet. Everyone's different, so you might not have to, but my program pretty much assumes you can't get enough Protein on 1/4 cup servings, so we do 3 meals a day, plus 3 Snacks, and 2 of those snacks have to be Protein Shakes. Maybe you could try some different ones until you find something you like better?

Sooooo how'd it settle? Did you die and go to , "Fat Folk's Hell"? !!!!! I AM ONLY JOKING!!!!

That's exactly what I asked my Nut when I pureed a cuke, a Tomato, some parsley, and vinegar/olive oil into a blender and had a "salad smoothie". I just could not even think of drinking another sweet drink. I received her "blessing" to have this mixture twice a week just to cleanse my palate, then right back to the sweet. Yuck.

Seriously, how are you doing? Did you call and discuss your decision or just wing it on your own?

I know---I'm nosey, but that's because I care. :)

Think of you on this day...

I couldn't stomach shakes or Protein Soups (sorry powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, I really tried to like you), so I lived on fairlife fat free milk during my puree/liquid stage. Fairlife milk is ultra filtered to remove sugar and lactose, and then fortified with extra Protein and Calcium. I would drink it cold with sugar free strawberry Syrup, or heat it with sugar free cocoa mix. It helped give me variety while meeting my protein needs.

Good luck, OP!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
