Renee1973 15 Posted April 7, 2016 I was sleeved on 3/23 so I'm on soft foods now. This morning I ate a yogurt but I still felt hunger pains. Shouldn't I be full after eating that? I'm also very tired all the time absolutely no energy at all. This has to get better! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

KristenLe 5,979 Posted April 7, 2016 I read on another thread that it could be "head hunger" and also to be sure to increase fluids and take something like Zantac. Good luck! Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App
jane13 2,256 Posted April 7, 2016 @@Renee1973 & @@heidiboo you both are experiencing a major shift in your body. Hormones being released, post surgery "stuff" and on top of that a reduction of calories. Stay hydrated, try to get in the Protein, keep moving...redundant, I know. If you were on BP meds watch your BP, it may be too low. Mine dropped about 3 weeks post and it made me feel like sleeping allllldddaaayyyyyyyy. I didn't realize that about a 20-25 weight loss would have that kind of effect but it did. it will get better - welcome to the 'other side'
JamieLogical 8,713 Posted April 7, 2016 Are you on a PPI? People often mistake the rumbling stomach associated with excess acid with "hunger". Could also be head hunger. My head hunger was OUT OF CONTROL in my first couple of weeks post-op. Are you getting all your Water and Protein in? As for the feeling tired, that is 100% normal. You are recovering from major surgery and probably only getting about 400 calories a day, if that. Of course you are going to be tired! For me, my fatigue took a turn for the better once I was on more solid foods and could get more calories in. Also, make sure you are getting your Protein and taking your B12.< /p>
Foxy_lady 22 Posted April 7, 2016 I know what you're feeling, I'm one month post op and I still feel hungry. My nutrionist advised me to eat small meals about 5x day now, which helps out alot.

JamieLogical 8,713 Posted April 7, 2016 I feel the same way! Tired Hungry etc! Can someone explain to me what is "head hunger"?! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App "Head hunger" is when you brain is telling you you are hungry instead of any real physical need for nourishment. When you see a commercial for food on TV and think "I NEED THAT RIGHT NOW", or when you smell a restaurant when you are driving by and you get a craving, or when you associate a certain food with a certain activity (like I always associate ice cream with watching Survivor)... that is "head hunger". You aren't truly, physically hungry. It's psychological. My husband's doctor used to say "if you aren't hungry enough to eat an apple, you aren't actually hungry."
