feedback on what I ate today

Recommended Posts

I agree w/Jacqui's thinking, as well. For dinner today, I had some beef stew, pureed. It has green Beans, tomatoes, corn, and cabbage in it. It tastes so good and is so filling and nourishing. I have a big pot of it and will freeze most of it...and just thaw and puree as needed!

Sure, I have a Protein drink throughout the day, but I'm not going to obsess over it. I just want to continue to eat healthfully, like I did pre-band...just w/smaller portions.

Wish you the best!

you could do lentil Soup, puree it, it's thick i could only get in about 4-6 oz but tastes sooo good feel like real food, i got sick of chicken soup after day 2! focus on Protein otherwise your hair starts to fall out!

i was told my meals. shakes should never be more than 8 oz and i should drink it within 15-20 minutes . i do 2 calcium chews a day , 2 flinstone chewables w/ Iron, and got my blood pressure meds in liquids makes life alot easier! Good luck on your journey!

Many towns like ours have a Farmers Market, full of fresh locally grown produce. I hit ours every week, and load up on fresh, usually organic, fruits and veggies. My only problem is I want them all NOW!!! I am madly putting things in the freezer, and when I did, I ran onto the stew I blended, back in my liquids/mushies stage!!! I agree, I did my best to eat healthy, but to also eat whatever the family was. I then didn't feel deprived!

Good Luck!!

Thanks everyone.

You've all helped alot. It's one week post-band.

Today I ate:

- 2 chewable vits

- 1/2 Odwalla super Protein shake

- 1 cup thinned cream of wheat made w/ skim milk, butter, and 1/2 maple Syrup

- 2 calcium chews

- 2 Tbs hummus

- 1/2 cup pureed/thinned red fish chowder from whole foods

- 1 organic fudgesicle

- Iron, folate

- Water throughout

How am I doing? I'm worried I'm not getting enough Protein? What do you think?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Ellen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
