I took one week. Went back to work the following week. I have a desk job and work with supportive people who know my situation and allowed me to ease back in. I'm so glad I went back to work. Life feels normal and I needed it to feel normal after a huge change.

Had surgery on Tuesday and back at work on Monday, work at a desk but I Supervisor 25 people so I'm up and down during the 10 hour shift, first 2-3 days were tiring but after that I got into the swing of things.

Surgery on Friday. Back to work Thursday. On my feet all day bending, squatting, kneeling. I couldn't lift more than 20 pounds for 3 weeks but then I was back to the usual 40-60 pounds. Just made sure I had plenty of shakes and Water and juice to sip on in between appointments.

It would be interesting to know how old people are. Not to be nosy or rude, but sometimes when this question is asked I wonder about that with people who respond.

I am 33 years old and I went back to work after a week. I had actually planned to take longer and after a week I realized that there was no reason I needed to be out because I have no complications at all and was feeling 100% after a week.

now I did have a work friend who had the sleeve that had pretty bad diarrhea up to two weeks after surgery and took two weeks off because she didn't feel like she could be away from her home bathroom.

So it is different for everyone, if you can be flexible I recommend it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
