QuilterGal 216 Posted April 6, 2016 Hubby and I went to the Caribbean last week for a week. I spent most of the week in a bathing suit and loose shorts that I had not fit into in years. I cannot tell you how totally awesome it was to just feel so at ease in my body and not worry about feeling fat. Oh, and I also lost 2 lbs! On vacation! And I didn't feel like I missed out on anything. We went out to eat at least once a day, and I had pizza for the first time since surgery. Of course, it took three meals for me to eat one personal pizza whereas hubby wolfed his down the first night at the restaurant. LOL!

Alphabetize 57 Posted April 16, 2016 My kids are 2 and 5. My 5-year-old has begged to go to the beach since he could talk. It's upsetting to say the only reason I haven't taken him is because I'm too embarrassed to be in a swimsuit. I am scheduled for RNY on 4/25 and already have our first beach trip scheduled as a surprise for his birthday the last week of September. It's a great incentive and I'm so excited to take a trip like this as a healthier me (one who feels way more confident!)

My son is 5 and we've always lived no more than 10 mins from the beaches here. It's amazing to be comftorable taking him now and knowing I can keep up! And comftorable rocking a swim suit! My fear preop more so than being in a bathing suit was just whether or not I'd be quick enough to jump up and get to him if a wave knocked him down, ect. Now at 145lbs down we are always at the beach! Congrats and good luck with your journey!!!
