I'm 2 weeks post op now and moved to purée foods. Let me tell you all- keep plugging with the full liquids- Clear Liquids until it is time. You will SO APPRECIATE the added flavors! It's like learning foods again! I've spent the day getting very creative with my 1/2 allowance of foods and it's been fun. But stick to it- your new tummy will thank you. Good luck! Btw. My schedule was day 1-5 clear liquids AND Protein Shakes. Day 6-14 full liquids. 15-30 purée and very soft foods.

I am on day 15 and starting puree foods. I was on full liquids from day 4-14. I usually wake up with nausea when I have it. Looking forward to adding a new food a day, per my surgeon . Has the gastric bypass, down 25#!!

I was on clears for 2 weeks then put on them for an additional week because I was not doing too well post op - mainly just feeling lousy and very emotional. They did allow me to take clear liquid Protein so my body wouldn't freak out too much and think it was completely starving for 3 weeks and start to shut down :)

My saving grace was Isopure ready to drink. By itself it's awful! I made a mixture of mine that included 8oz of Isopure (about 1/3 bottle), 8oz same color Powerade Zero (about 1/3 bottle) and 8oz of Water. It didn't taste bad at all and gave me over 10g of Protein in each bottle that I drank. I would drink 3 of those mixtures daily and had 40g of protein in a day plus 48 oz of water/liquid. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Which flavor Isopure did you use?

I am so sorry. It's crazy how much treatments can vary between doctors. I was on clear liquids for 3 days. The first day before surgery and the 2 after. I have been on full liquids since. My doctors let you start purée at days 10 post op. I'm not sure what weight loss looks like for you all but I am 7 days tomorrow and at 12lbs today at my check up. I can't imagine what you are going through.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
