Tssiemer1 549 Posted April 5, 2016 Has anyone ever tried these? I went to sign up at Planet fitness and they have one. The guy said it will help with scars, stretch marks, acne and tightening my skin as I lose weight. http://www.besthealthmag.ca/best-looks/skin/is-red-light-therapy-safe/ Thoughts? MrsKnebel 6 Posted April 7, 2016 I had always been a self proclaimed "Tan-aholic"! Largely in part to help camouflage the cellulite and stretch marks on my legs and tummy. I was a member of Planet Fitness and used the tanning beds daily, (whether I worked out or not) because it was less expensive to pay for a membership than it was to go to an actual tanning salon. My thought was, tan fat looks better than pale fat. However, my mindset changed drastically the day I got the call from the Dermatologist informing me that I had skin cancer...ON MY FACE, directly under my EYE. I had to have Mohr's Surgery that left a scar that runs from below my right eye to just above my mouth. I have muscle and nerve damage because of the surgery that makes my smile crooked and my right eye slightly lower than my left eye. I looked like the elephant man for 3 months while I was healing and every time I opened my mouth to laugh or take a bite of food, the incision would ooze. I still love tan skin, but now my tan comes in a bottle or from a spray tan. It simply isn't worth the risk to put myself in another, though extremely relaxing, tanning bed. I miss those beautiful tans, but I love the skin I'm in more! Be informed, make the best decision for you!
Champ715 207 Posted April 7, 2016 I'm wondering if either of the above posters actually bothered to click on her link. She's not talking about regular UV tanning. I don't know anything about red light therapy but it doesn't seem like either of you answered her question.

Christinamo7 4,042 Posted April 7, 2016 I clicked on the link - but I'd be awful suspicious of it. Love the skin you're in. If you want the stretch marks to fade use coconut oil or butter as a lotion after bath. take salmon oil or other fish oil for good healthy skin. it is, in my opinion a much better option. Tssiemer1 549 Posted April 7, 2016 I wanted this to work soooooo bad lol. But no, the red light does not have UV rays. I can't do tanning beds, if I go in for even a minute I roast lol.
jaxmama 3 Posted April 9, 2016 Red light therapy is different than a uv tanning bed. People use it for Vitamin d deficiency and skin treatments. IT'S NOT harmful like the uv tanning beds Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
jaxmama 3 Posted April 9, 2016 Just make sure it is indeed the red light therapy and not a tanning bed with red bulbs. Big difference. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
