Christinamo7 4,042 Posted April 4, 2016 (edited) Please allow me to share some inspiration with you this morning. This is my Uncle Stan. The first picture is at my grandmas 90th birthday. It is shortly before he had the sleeve. Kidney disease, heart issues, diabetes. I honestly thought we might not have him long. The second picture is last weekend. Grandma is 93. He has lost I would guess half his extra weight. He is almost 70. In those three years he has fought off kidney cancer and had that kidney removed. His wife is in hospice with colon cancer. If he can change his life I won't let my issues stop me. he is also teaching me to keep trying for my goal - but not to get hung up on it. he only lost half yet his life is completely changed, and probably saved. he is teaching me that it is going to be ok as long as I keep going, keep trying. JamieLogical 8,710 Posted April 4, 2016 Thank you for sharing this. I think a LOT of people get hung up on a number here and trying to reach an arbitrary goal weight. The truth is, just losing as little as 10% of your body weight can have a HUGE impact on your health. The main reason any of us have this surgery should be to live a longer, healthier life.
